Mattie Louise Kaeb

Fairbury – Mattie Louise Kaeb, 60, of Fairbury, passed away peacefully at 7:50am on Thursday, April 19, 2012 at her residence.

Visitation will be held from 2-6:00pm on Sunday, April 22, 2012 at Duffy-Pils Memorial Home, Fairbury.

Funeral will be held at 10:00am Monday, April 23, 2012 at Forrest Apostolic Christian Church. Ministers of the church will be officiating. Pallbearers will be Eric Virkler, Scott Virkler, Matt Couzens, Paul Wagenbach, Doug Wettstein, and Matt Knapp. Honorary pallbearers will be Ryan Gutwein and Josiah Gutwein.

Burial will be in South Side Apostolic Cemetery, rural Fairbury.

Memorials may be made to Fairview Haven Nursing Home, Alms Fund at Forrest Apostolic Christian Church, or Apostolic Christian Home for the Handicapped, Morton.

Mattie was born February 2, 1952 in Pontiac the daughter of Raymond and Miriam Ramseyer Wenger. They preceded her in death. She married Nicholas Kaeb on January 10, 1988 in Forrest. He survives in Fairbury.

Also surviving are two sisters, Dorothy (Daniel) Virkler of Ellington, CT, Anne Wenger of Fairbury, and many nieces and nephews.

Mattie was a member of the Forrest Apostolic Christian Church.

In her early years Mattie was a nurse’s aide at Mennonite Hospital. She then worked at Gailey Eye Surgery Center.

Mattie retired in 2008 after 14 years of working alongside her husband in their store Kaeb’s Gospel Gifts in Fairbury.

Mattie will be fondly remembered for her love of children and by all the children she had cared for over the years.
