Jeffrey Richard Kafer

Jeffrey Richard Kafer, 47, Normal, and formerly of Fairbury, died at 9:04 pm Thursday, April 19, 2012 at OSF St. Joseph Medical Center, Bloomington.

Funeral services will be held at 10:30 am Thursday April 26, 2012 at the First United Methodist Church, 211 N. School St., Normal, IL with the Rev. John McIntosh officiating. Burial will be in Graceland Cemetery, Fairbury. Visitation will be 4:00 to 8:00 pm Wednesday and 9:30 to 10:15 am Thursday at the church. Duffy-Pils Memorial Home, Fairbury is in charge of arrangements. In lieu of flowers the family suggest memorials be directed to an educational fund that will be established for his children or the Illinois Grain and Feed Scholarship, 3521 Hollis Drive, Springfield, IL 62711.

Jeff was born February 15, 1965 in Fairbury, IL the son of James and Karyl Uban Kafer. He married Vicki Bayler on August 4, 1990 in Fairbury. She survives in Normal, IL.

Also surviving are his three children, Taryn, Trevin, Tori, all at home, his parents, Fairbury, one sister, Janice (Steve) Karnes, Monticello, IL, parents-in-law, Ted and Sherin Bayler, Varna, IL, two brothers-in-law, Mick (Beckie) Bayler, Brownsburg, IN, John (Donna Attieh) Bayler, Varna, IL, sister-in-law, Trisha (Paul) Ladogna, Lilyfield, Australia.

Jeff was a 1983 graduate of Fairbury-Cropsey High School, attended Parkland College, Illinois State University and graduated from Elmhurst College with a bachelor degree in Business. He was president and owner of Koehl Brothers Inc., Fairbury and a member of the First United Methodist Church, Normal.

Jeff was a loving husband, father and son who enjoyed fishing, snowmobiling and was an avid ISU and St. Louis Cardinals fan.
