Robert Russ Little, 75, Fairbury, died at 10:57 pm Saturday, February 23, 2013 at OSF St. Joseph Medical Center, Bloomington.
A gathering of family and friends will begin at 1:30 pm Saturday, March 2, 2013 at the Fairbury VFW, 205 East Locust St., Fairbury, IL. Duffy-Pils Memorial Home, Fairbury is assisting the family with arrangements. In lieu of flowers the family suggests memorials be given to the Boy Scouts of America or to the American Cancer Society.
Mr. Little was born November 2, 1937 in Detroit, MI the son of Robert and Anne Russ Little. He married Leigh Smith and they were together for over 40 years. She survives in Fairbury.
Also surviving is one son, Robert Lee Little, Cropsey, IL; one daughter, Mary Dawson, Pontiac, IL, one sister, Joy Chase, Santa Cruz, CA; and three grandchildren.
He is preceded in death by one sister, Roberta Allen.
Mr. Little served in the United States Army from October 19, 1962 until October 18, 1968. After the service he began his career at Caterpillar’s original manufacturing plant in San Leandro, Ca. He was employed by Caterpillar for 42 years as a manufacturing engineer retiring on April 1, 2001. He was a member of the Fairbury Lions Club and the Boy Scouts of America.
