Adam Michael Short, 29, Forrest, died at 5:25 pm Wednesday, April 20, 2022 at Northwestern Memorial Hospital, Chicago.

Adam was born January 7, 1993 in Pontiac, IL the son of Scott Michael Short and Martha Martinez.

Survivors include his mother, Martha (Chad Allen) Martinez, Fairbury; father, Scott Michael (Rachel Miller) Short, Odell; Fiancé, Sierra Retter, Forrest; daughter, Elena Short, Fairbury; 2 sons, Elias and Easton Short, both of Forrest; siblings, Andrew Bailey, Mahomet; Steven Short, Ohio; Sydney Short, Sarah Short, both of Odell; Sierra Allen, Flanagan; and Dustin Allen, Fairbury.

He is preceded in death by his paternal grandparents.

Adam was a Boston Celtics fan and loved watching basketball.

His funeral will be at 2:00 pm Tuesday, April 26, 2022 at the First Baptist Church, Fairbury with Pastor Daryl Evans officiating.  Burial will be in Graceland Cemetery, Fairbury.

Visitation will be 4:00 to 8:00 pm Monday at Duffy-Pils Memorial Home, Fairbury and 1:00 to 1:45 pm Tuesday at the church.  The family suggests memorials be given to the Adam M. Short Memorial Fund.

Adam always had a smile and lit up any room he was in.  He loved his children more than anything.  We will miss him terribly.
