Chenoa: Alice Elizabeth Reeser, 89, of Chenoa passed away at 7:25 pm, Wednesday, October 1, 2008 at Meadows Mennonite Retirement Community, Meadows, IL.

Her funeral will be 11 a.m. Saturday October 4, 2008 at the Meadows Mennonite Church, Meadows, with Pastor Steve Estes officiating. Burial will follow in Chenoa Cemetery, Chenoa, IL.

Visitation will be from 4 to 7 pm Friday, October 3, 2008 at Duffy-Pils Memorial Home, Chenoa and one hour prior to services at the church on Saturday.

Alice was born November 9, 1918 in Meadows, IL, the daughter of LeRoy and Fannie (Roszhart) Reany. She married Oliver D. Reeser January 10, 1940 in Meadows. He passed away September 25, 1992.

Surviving are three sons; James (Joyce) Reeser, Franklin, TN; John (Patricia) Reeser, Hatfield, PA; Thomas (Carol) Reeser, Centerline, MI; one sister; Marilyn Sherman, Bloomington, thirteen grandchildren and twenty five great grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, and three brothers.

Mrs. Reeser was a 1936 graduate of Chenoa High School and worked at Meadows Mennonite Retirement Community for 18 years in housekeeping. She was a lifetime member of Meadows Mennonite Church. Alice and her husband were avid Chenoa High School sports fans and she spent many hours creating quilts for her family and friends.

The family suggests that memorials be directed to Meadows Mennonite Retirement Community, Meadows, IL.
