Fairbury – Alice A. Steidinger, 85, of Fairbury, passed away at 1:07pm, May 17, 2019, at Good Samaritan Nursing Home, Pontiac.

Cremation has been accorded.

A graveside service will be held at 10:00am, Friday, May 24, 2019, at Forrest Township Cemetery.

Pastor Daryl Evans will be officiating.

Memorials may be made to First Baptist Church of Fairbury.

Duffy-Pils Memorial Home, Fairbury is in charge of arrangements.

Alice was born July 6, 1933, in Gridley, the daughter of Russell and Lillian Drake Nash.

She married Gene Steidinger on June 12, 1954 in Fairbury. He passed away in 1991.

Surviving are her children, Vicki (Ricky) Bane of Dana, Doug (Jeri) Steidinger of Forrest, Rick Steidinger of Fairbury, and Vernon (Kim) Steidinger of Lexington; 18 grandchildren; 16 great-grandchildren; sister, Annebelle Alfield of Knoxville, TN; and several nieces and nephews including her niece Barbara (Milton) Mowery of Bloomington.

She was preceded in death by her parents, son, Steve, two grandchildren and brother Dave Nash.

Alice was a nurse assistant for over 30 years at Fairbury Hospital.

She was a member of the First Baptist Church, Fairbury.
