Alice M. Teubel, 90, a resident of Meadows Mennonite Retirement Community, Chenoa, died at 3:15 am Thursday, October 10, 2013 at the Retirement Community.

Private graveside services will be held Tuesday, October 15, 2013 at East Graceland Cemetery, Fairbury with ministers of the German Apostolic Christian Church officiating.

Visitation will be 6:00 to 8:00 pm Monday, October 14, 2013 at Duffy-Pils Memorial Home, Fairbury. In lieu of flowers the family suggest memorials be given to Meadows Mennonite Retirement Community, Chenoa; American Red Cross of the Heartland; Dominy Memorial Library, Fairbury; or the Community Cancer Center, Normal.

Mrs. Teubel was born March 12, 1923 in Forrest, IL the daughter of Jacob and Martha Bachtold Bender. She married Herman Teubel on January 2, 1948 in Pontiac, IL. He died on April 19, 1999.

Surviving are four daughters, Ruth Teubel; Mary Beth (Al) Slagel, both of Fairbury, IL; Doris Teubel, Aloha, Oregon; Joann (Gerald) McKenney, Kent, Washington; five grandchildren, Laura (Jason) Hatmaker, Karl Slagel, Julie (Mike) Matejcak, Laura McKenney, Manuel McKenney; two great-grandchildren, Landon Hatmaker and Katja Matejcak; two sisters, Mae (Charles) Arnold, Mansfield, OH; Florence (Donald) Rinkenberger, Fairbury, IL; two sisters-in-law, Bernice Bender, Fairbury, IL and Edith Bender, Paxton, IL.

She is preceded in death by five brothers and one sister.

Mrs. Teubel was a homemaker and a member of the German Apostolic Christian Church, Fairbury.
