Alieta J. (Hornsby) Tinges, 84 of Chenoa, passed away at 12:01 pm, Wednesday, March 16, 2016 at her residence in Chenoa; surrounded by her loving family and friends.

Her funeral service will be at 10:00am, Monday, March 21, 2016 at Duffy-Pils Memorial Home, Chenoa with Father Carl LoPresti and Pastor Jeremy Latzke officiating. Burial will follow in Chenoa Cemetery, Chenoa.

Visitation will be from 2 to 6:00 pm, Sunday, March 20, 2016 also at the funeral home in Chenoa. The family suggests memorials be directed to Chenoa Fire Department, Southeastern Livingston County Ambulance Service, Chenoa Historical Society, the Chenoa Food Pantry and the St. Paul Evangelical Lutheran Church of Chenoa.

Mrs. Tinges was born July 14, 1931 in Morris, the daughter of Arthur F. and Arlette (Larson) Hornsby Sr. She married Milton L. Tinges on August 25, 1951 in Morris. Her husband Milton passed away January 12, 2015.

She was also preceded in death by her parents, two sisters, Beverly J. Cripe and Ardyce (Richard) Cohenour and one brother-in-law Ronald Tinges.

Survivors include one brother, Arthur (Kathy) Hornsby Jr. of Morris; three sister in-laws, Shirley (James) Stymiest of Streator and Sally (Chuck) Kauffman of Chenoa; Margaret Ann Tinges of Chenoa; one brother-in-law John Cripe of California; as well as many nieces and nephews.

Alieta worked side by side with her husband in the family business selling Pontiac Cars and GMC Trucks, eventually going into Evinrude Motors and Sea Nymph boats, which they thoroughly enjoyed for many years. One of the biggest joys in her life was playing Bridge with her dearest friends.
