Obituary
Allan P. Brown, 85, Fairbury, died at 6:10 pm Tuesday, August 28, 2012 at Fairview Haven Retirement Community, Fairbury.
Funeral services will be held at 10:30 am Saturday, September 1, 2012 at the United Methodist Church, Forrest. Burial will be in the Pleasant Ridge Twp. Cemetery, rural Wing, IL.
Visitation will be 4:00 to 8:00 pm Friday, August 31, 2012 at Duffy-Pils Memorial Home, Fairbury and 9:30 to 10:15 am Saturday at the church. The family suggests memorials be directed to the United Methodist Church, Forrest or to the Brian Munz Safety Complex, Fairbury.
Mr. Brown was born July 10, 1927 in Pontiac, IL the son of Martin and Margaret Perry Brown. He married Ella L. Thorndyke on April 30, 1950. She died on January 2, 2012.
Surviving are his children, Gary (Jane) Brown, Saunemin, Donna (Carl) Anderson, Bloomington, Carol (Erik) Krag, Greencastle, IN, Sue (Dale) Rolando, Orlando, FL, Wayne (Sue) Brown, Gibson City, IL, Paul (Linda) Brown, Petersburg, one sister, Lena Nickrent, Forrest, fourteen grandchildren, eighteen great grandchildren and one step great granddaughter.
Mr. Brown was a 1945 graduate of Saunemin High School and was a lifetime farmer in the Wing, IL area. He was a member of the United Methodist Church, Forrest.
