Marie Mizell

Colfax – Allie Marie Mizell, 86, of Normal formerly of Colfax passed away at 3:08 pm Sunday, September 18, 2011 at OSF St. Francis Medical Center, Peoria.

Her funeral will be held at 10:00 am on Friday, September 23, 2011 at Colfax United Methodist Church. Rev. Grant Armstrong will be officiating. Burial will be at Wiley Cemetery, Colfax.

Visitation will be held from 4-7:00pm, Thursday, September 22, 2011 at Duffy-Pils Memorial Home, Colfax and one hour prior to services on Friday.

Memorials may be made to the Colfax United Methodist Church.

Marie was born March 19, 1925 in Gamaliel, KY the daughter of Lonie and Bertha M. Holland Russell.

She married Donald Mizell December 23, 1941 in Glasgow, KY. He died November 21, 1982.

Surviving are her children, Don M. (Kay) Mizell of Normal, Patricia A. Harris of GA, Betty (Kenneth) Hinrichs of Gifford, and Larry (Susan) Mizell of Lake Bloomington; grandchildren, David Mizell, Geneva Harris, Jake (Marla) Goff, Christopher (Andrea) Mizell, Cynthia (Aaron) Hallead, Andrew (Christine Timan) Mizell, Alexander Mizell; great-grandchildren, Aarian, Eddie, Jacob, Grant, Kale, Casen, Sophia, Stella, and Carson.

She was preceeded in death by her husband, 6 sisters, 1 brother and her grandson Jody.

Marie had previously worked in nursing. She was a homemaker and loved being involved on the farm.

She was a member of Colfax United Methodist Church, United Methodist Women, and American Legion Auxiliary.

She loved the outdoors. Marie was a loving mother, grandmother and great-grandmother. She lived for her grandchildren and was a faithful friend.
