Anna J Birge (GRANNY), age 89 of Tucson, AZ, formally of Anchor, passed away at 12.45pm on Sunday, October 9, 2011 at La Hacienda Assisted Living in Tucson.

Her funeral will be at 2:00pm on Saturday, October 22, 2011 at Duffy-Pils Memorial Home, Colfax with visitation one hour prior.

Burial will be in Wiley Cemetery, Colfax.

Memorials may be made to McLean County Humane Society or American Diabetes Association.
Anna was born March 26, 1922 in Delavan, Il. She married Jesse T. Birge June 14, 1939 in Emden, Il. He passed away on March 25,1989.

Surviving are her children Jesse D. (Phyllis) Birge of Southaven, MS and Barbara (Bud) Towner of Tucson, AZ.
Seven grand-daughters, Kallie (Terry) Johnson, Kim (Steve)Henkel, Kam (Greg) Sendlak, all of Tucson, Patty Howell and Nancy (Mike) Jones of MS, Donna McElroy and Debbie(Jimmy) Campbell of MA.
Great-grandchildren, Kyla (Tony) Martin, Nick Henkel and Lucas Henkel, all of Tucson, Kelsey (Josh) McDaniel of Phoenix, Nicole (James) Leubke of Syracus, NY and Michael Johnson of Tacoma, WA., Cady, Matthew and John Michael Jones, Heather Cook, Ryan Cross and Kassye Howell of MS.
Granny's 5th generation Great-great-grandchildren MaKyla and Brayden Martin, Tucson and Kassidie Ann Slater of Phoenix.

A special thank you to the angels at La Hacienda: Cecille, Ken, Ronna and Nonna who took such wonderful loving care of our Granny.

God's greatest commandment is to love. Granny loved unconditionally and in return was loved unconditionally by all who knew her. She lived for her family and loved her friends, birds, flowers and animals. She loved the simplest things in life.

We love you Granny and nothing will ever be able to fill the emptiness left behind. You will always be in our hearts!
