Obituary
Fairbury – Anna M. Steffen, 101 of Fairbury passed away at 4:07am on Monday, August 3, 2009 at Fairview Haven Nursing Home, Fairbury.
Funeral will be held at 10:00 am Thursday, August 6, 2009 at Apostolic Christian Church, Fairbury with the Ministers of the Church officiating.
Burial will be in Fairbury Apostolic Christian Cemetery.
Visitation will be 4:00 to 8:00pm Wednesday, August 5, 2009 at Duffy-Pils Memorial Home, Fairbury and 9:00 to 9:45am Thursday at the church.
Anna was born March 10, 1908 in Indian Grove Township the daughter of Sam and Lena Broquard Zehr.
She married Sam Steffen on February 21, 1932 in Fairbury. He died August 31, 1983.
Surviving are one daughter, Louise (Lester) Furrer-Zimmerman of Fairbury and one son Richard (Lou Ida) Steffen of Forrest; daughter-in-law Betty Steffen of Fairbury; 6 grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by two sons, Earl and Hartzell; one son-in-law, Kenneth Furrer; one grandson, Dougi Steffen; 3 brothers and 8 sisters
Anna was a homemaker and an avid quilter. She was a member of the Apostolic Christian Church, Fairbury for 85 years.
Memorials may be made to Fairview Haven or Apostolic Christian Home, Timber Ridge, Morton.
