Arthur H. Rhoades, 87, Chenoa, died at 3:15 am Tuesday, September 6, 2022 at Fairview Haven Retirement Community, Fairbury.

Mr. Rhoades was born May 28, 1935 in Wilmington, IL the son of Charles and Francis Frost Rhoades.  He married Betty J. Easter on July 11, 1958 in Bowling Green Twp., IL.  She preceded him in death on November 8, 2007.

He is survived by one son, Richard (Penny) Rhoades, Chenoa; two grandsons who he loved dearly, Aaron (Alicia) Rhoades, Chenoa, Brad (Adriana Alvarez) Rhoades, Fairbury; three great grandchildren, Lucas, Layton and Madison with one on the way; Two sisters, Ruby Allen and Daisy Pettyjohn; one brother, Marvin Rhoades, all of Cowden, IL.

He is preceded in death by his parents, two brothers, Carl and Melvin Rhoades, one infant sister, Virginia Rhoades and one grandson, Corey Rhoades.

Mr. Rhoades served in the United States Army (1955-1958).  He was employed for 44 years by GM & O Railroad and later Illinois Central Railroad having retired in 1997.  He loved the outdoors especially fishing, camping and hunting.

Visitation will be 12:00 to 1:45 pm Saturday, September 10, 2022 at Duffy-Pils Memorial Home, Chenoa followed by a graveside service at Chenoa Twp. Cemetery at 2:00 pm.  The family suggests memorials be given to Fairview Haven Retirement Community, Fairbury or the Chenoa Fire Department.
