Barbara A. Meiss, 72, of Fairbury died Saturday, February 9, 2008 at Gerald Champion Regional Medical Center, Alamogordo, New Mexico.

Funeral services will be 10:00 am Friday, February 15, 2008 at the Apostolic Christian Church, Fairbury with the Ministers of the Church officiating. Burial will be in the Apostolic Christian Cemetery, Fairbury. Visitation will be 4:00 to 8:00 pm Thursday, February 14, 2008 at Duffy-Pils Memorial Home, Fairbury and 9:00 to 9:45 am Friday at the church.

Mrs. Meiss was born September 5, 1935 in Eliasville, TX the daughter of Finley Othell and Mary Francis Ingram Pratt. She married Marion Dale Meiss, July 19, 1980 in Forrest, IL. He survives in Fairbury.

Also surviving are her children, Jack O. Montgomery, Fairbury, Peggy M. (Marty) Whitson, North Aurora, IL, and Adrian A. (Jaron) Montgomery, Aurora, IL, six grandchildren and six great grandchildren, two brothers, Jack (Betty) Pratt, Dublin, TX, DeWayne (Marilyn) Pratt, Granbury, TX, two sisters, Francis McCarty, Alamogordo, NM and Charlotte Norland, Las Vegas, NV and many nieces and nephews.

She is preceded in death by a son Kenny Montgomery, and two brothers, Douglas and Billy Pratt.

Mrs. Meiss was a homemaker and a member of the Apostolic Christian Church, Fairbury.

The family suggests memorials be given to the Apostolic Christian Church, Fairview Haven Nursing Home's Good Samaritan Fund, or the charity of the donor's choice.
