Obituary
Barbara J. Stewart, 70, Forrest, died at 1:40 pm Thursday, July 2, 2015 at her residence in Forrest.
Funeral services will be held at 10:00 am Monday, July 6, 2015 at the Forrest United Methodist Church with Pastor Deb Honegger officiating. Burial will be in Forrest Twp. Cemetery.
Visitation will be 2:00 to 5:00 pm Sunday, July 5, 2015 at Duffy-Pils Memorial Home, Fairbury and 9:00 to 9:45 am Monday at the church. The family suggests memorials be given to OSF Hospice or the Forrest Twp. Library.
Mrs. Stewart was born May 24, 1945 in Fairbury, IL the daughter of Ernest and Laverne Metz Tyler. She married F. Douglas Stewart on February 9, 1963 in Forrest, IL. He died on April 26, 2013.
Surviving are one daughter, Jean (Darrell) Rabe, Fairbury, one son, Scott (Lori) Stewart, St. Joseph, four grandchildren, Jarrin and Kenzie Rabe, Kylie and Jake Stewart, one brother, Keith (Cathy) Tyler, Cisco, IL, one brother-in-law, Jim Gleeson, Florida and a special cousin, Bev Eisenmann.
She is preceded in death by her parents and one sister.
Mrs. Stewart was a teacher's aide at Prairie Central School District for 13 years. She was a member of the Forrest United Methodist Church and enjoyed quilting, cross stitch, cooking and reading. Her special companion was her dog Bella, who she loved dearly.
