Bernard L. "Shep" Shepard, 76, of Arrowsmith, died at 12:54 P.M., Friday, August 23, 2013 at his residence in Arrowsmith.
Funeral services will be 11 am, Tuesday, August 27, 2013 at Duffy-Pils Memorial Home, Colfax with Pastor Paulette Cott officiating. Burial will follow in Wiley Cemetery, Colfax with Military rites conducted by the Bloomington American Legion.
Visitation is from 4 to 7pm, Monday, August 26, 2013 and one hour prior to the service also at Duffy-Pils Memorial Home, Colfax.
Shep was born July 31, 1937 in Orford, NH; a son to Frank and Rose (Bomguard) Shepard. He married Sylvia "Kay" Bane on December 10, 1951 in Arrowsmith. She survives in Arrowsmith.
Other survivors include two daughters, Mary (Tim) Ritterbusch of Morton; Jody Shepard of Los Angeles, CA; two grandsons, Zachary and Alexander Ritterbusch of Morton; one brother, Donald Shepard of Vermont; and beloved pet dog "Molly".
He was preceded in death by his parents, six brothers, two sisters and one infant daughter, Roseanna Shepard.
In lieu of flowers the family suggests that memorials be directed to Central Illinois Small Animal Rescue Shelter, Colfax.
Shep was a "Jack of all Trades" there is nothing he wouldn't attempt to fix. He served our country in the US Air Force was employed by Firestone for over thirty years and later farmed in the Arrowsmith area. He will be greatly missed by his family and friends who deeply loved him.
