Betty Babbs-Hand, 72, Pleasant View, TN, died at 5:06 pm Thursday, February 27, 2020 at Northcrest Medical Center, Springfield, TN.

Visitation will be 4:00 to 7:00 pm Thursday, March 5, 2020 and 9:30 to 10:15 am Friday at Duffy-Pils Memorial Home, Fairbury.  Burial will follow in Avoca Twp. Cemetery, Fairbury.  The family suggests memorials be given to the Shriner's Hospital, Cincinnati, OH.

Betty was born February 2, 1948 in Fairbury, IL the daughter of Herbert Donald and Daisy Waters Bellot.  She attended school in Fairbury, IL and later married Russell Babbs from Wing, IL on June 19, 1965 in Fairbury and they were blessed with 4 children.  Russell died on April 22, 1976.  Betty devoted her time to raising her children and on September 24, 2001 she married Harris "Pop" Hand He died on July 17, 2010.

In 2009 Betty started fighting the hardest battle of her life when she was told she had end stage renal disease.  It was a very hard daily battle but now she can rest pain free.

Survivors include her mother, Daisy M. Bellot, Fairbury, two sons, Tim (Jennifer) Babbs, Tom (Sheila) Babbs, both of Pleasant View, TN, one daughter, Peggy Crutcher, Nashville, TN, step children, Ross (Beverly) Hand, Joelton, TN, Judy (Edrow) Adcock, Goodlettsville, TN, Teresa (Larry) Murphy, Goodlettsville, TN, Doris (Bobby) Lavender, Nashville, TN, and Sherri (David) Woodall, White House, TN,  15 grandchildren, 8 step grandchildren, 19 great grandchildren and step great grandchildren, two brothers, William (Cheryl) Bellot, Chatham, IL, James (Phyllis) Bellot, Forrest, and one sister, Mary Frances Gambardella.

She is preceded in death by her father and a daughter, Beverly Jane Babbs and a nephew.
