Betty Darlene Baer, 85, of Fairbury, passed away at 7:25pm Saturday, September 12, 2015 at Fairview Haven Retirement Community, Fairbury.

She was born May 18, 1930 in Joliet, IL, the daughter of William T. and Dorothy Olson Foster. Betty married Harvey H. Baer on April 30, 1950 in Pontiac, IL. He preceded her in death on August 27, 2004.

Betty is survived by a sister, Carolyn Maddox, KY and a brother, Kerry (Carol) Foster, Pontiac, 3 daughters, Marcy Ballenger, Towanda, Suzette (Donald) Klemme, Normal, and Dawn Bolliger, Fairbury, 6 grandchildren, Cory (Rachael) Ballenger, Jairon (Lezlie) Ballenger, Heather (Keith) Smith, Adam (Erin) Bolliger, Nicholas (Michelle) Bolliger, and Danielle (Lance Mowery) Bolliger, and 13 great grandchildren, Kathryn Andrews, Elizabeth Wayne, Dakota Ballenger, Brianna Ballenger, Justin Ballenger, Jaidan Ballenger, Jace Ballenger, Jehtt Ballenger, Kyler Mann, Kaden Smith, Elijah Mowery, Urban Mowery and Gertrude Mowery.

Betty was a self-employed beautician in Fairbury for many years. She loved spending time with her family, gardening, belonging to the Fairbury Garden Club, Home Extension, the Red Hat Society, and the Trinity Lutheran Church, Fairbury. She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother and great grandmother. She will be missed by all who knew her.

Visitation will be from 5:00 to 8:00 pm Wednesday, September 16, 2015 at Duffy-Pils Memorial Home, Fairbury and 10:00 to 10:45 am Thursday at the Church.

The funeral service will be at 11:00 am Thursday at the Trinity Lutheran Church, Fairbury with Pastor Tom Krieger officiating. Burial will follow in Graceland Cemetery, Fairbury. The family suggests memorials be given to the Trinity Lutheran Church, Fairbury.
