Obituary
Betty Jean Brown, 84, Fairbury, died at 11:19 pm Sunday, November 25, 2012 at her residence surrounded by her family.
Funeral services will be held at 11:00 am Friday, November 30, 2012 at the First United Methodist Church, Fairbury with the Rev. Steven Livengood officiating. Burial will be in Graceland Cemetery, Fairbury.
Visitation will be 4:00 to 8:00 pm Thursday at Duffy-Pils Memorial Home, Fairbury and 10:00 to 10:45 am Friday at the church. The family suggests memorials be given to the Brian Munz Safety Complex or to the VFW Ladies Auxiliary, both in Fairbury.
Mrs. Brown was born June 13, 1928 in Fairbury, IL the daughter of Taylor and Edna Shavers Sears. She married Charles Brown on July 3, 1948 in Chicago, IL. He preceded her in death on September 17, 1990.
Survivors include her children; Charlene (Doug) Aaron, Fairbury; Alma Brown, Peoria; Charles (Barb Rathbun) Brown Jr., Fairbury; Lisa (David) Polnitz, Lori Brown, both of Peoria; six grandchildren; Matthew (Amanda)Aaron, Whitney Aaron, Brandon and Kierra Polnitz, Chanel and Nigel Noel; seven great grandchildren; and four sisters; Laura Clark, Frisco, TX; Taylora (Milton) Curtiss, Pontiac, IL; Michelle (Richard) Barsema, Fairbury; Chee Chee (James) Humbles, Bloomington, IL.
She is preceded in death by one brother and one sister.
Mrs. Brown was a graduate of Fairbury high school. She worked at Fairbury Hospital in the housekeeping and laundry departments for several years. She was an avid Cubs and Bears fan.
