Strawn – Betty Jo Durre, 68, of Strawn passed away at 9:40 pm, Saturday, April 30, 2016 at Advocate BroMenn Medical Center, Normal.
Cremation rites have been accorded. The family will have a private Celebration of Betty's life on Saturday, May 7, 2016; there will be no public visitation. Duffy-Pils Memorial Home, Chenoa is in charge of arrangements.
In lieu of flowers memorial contributions in Betty's name may be directed to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital, Shriner's Children's Hospital or St. Paul's Lutheran Church of Chatsworth.
Betty was born November 16, 1947 in Sterling, IL; the daughter of Joseph and Betty (Boles) Souser. She married Ronald Durre on April 8, 1967 in Flanagan. Her husband, Ronald survives in rural Strawn; her father Joseph Souser survives in Baudette, MN. Her mother preceded her in death.
Other survivors include her children, Ron (Deb) Durre of Craig, NE; Tamara Durre of Rushville, IL; Tania Durre of Tecumseh, NE; two grandchildren, Remington and Madisen Durre both of Craig, NE; two brothers, William (Gloria) Souser of O'Fallon, IL; Randy (Marcia) Souser of Casper, WY; one sister, Deborah (Dan) Evans of Baudette, MN.
Betty was raised in the Lutheran Faith, as a pastor's child. She loved God and her family with all her heart. She was a loving, wife, mother and grandmother; always putting other's needs before her own. Her memory and never ending love will forever live in our hearts and in the hearts of all who knew and loved her.
