Obituary
Colfax – Betty Ferguson, 76, of Colfax, passed away December 2, 2008 at 2:25p.m. at OSF St. Joseph Medical Center, Bloomington.
Visitation will be held on Saturday, December 6, 2008 from 11-1:00 p.m. at Duffy-Pils Memorial Home in Colfax. Funeral will also be held on Saturday at 1:00 p.m. at the funeral home. Pastor Dan Jassman will be officiating. Burial will be in Wiley Cemetery, Colfax.
The family suggests that memorials may be made to Colfax Christian Church or EMCAA.
Betty was born on July 19, 1932 in Beaver Dam, KY the daughter of Robert and Verda Kessinger Burgess. They preceded her in death. She married Voit Ferguson on January 1, 1950. He died June 30, 1980.
Surviving are three daughters, Melody (Ricky) Wagoner and Sandy Ferguson both of Colfax and Marlene (John) Holt of Bloomington; three grandsons, Dustin (AnnMarie Porter) Holt and Kody and Kris (Julie McFarland) Ferguson; two brothers, Bill (Daisy) Burgess of Kansas and Jack (Virgie) Burgess of Bloomington; three sisters, Jerline (Harlan) Herold of Bloomington, Sharon Flanders of Pontiac and Louise Burgess of Bloomington; special friend Gene Harrison of Gibson City.
She was preceded in death by one brother.
Betty cleaned many homes in the Colfax area and also cleaned for Service Masters for many years.
She attended Colfax Christian Church where she was a member of Hustlers.
Betty had a special love for her grandchildren and she loved fishing with her husband and children.
