Fairbury - Betty Lou Lawrence, 79 of Fairbury died at 4:37 pm, Thursday, October 27, 2022 at her residence in Fairbury.

A memorial service will be held at 6:00 pm Tuesday, November 1, 2022 at the 1st Baptist Church of Fairbury with Pastor Brian King officiating. Visitation will be 3:30 to 5:45pm Tuesday prior to the service also at the church in Fairbury. Duffy-Pils Memorial Home, Fairbury is assisting the family with arrangements.

The family suggest memorials be directed to the Tapestry of Love Ministry, Fairbury, American Diabetes Association or SELCAS of Fairbury.

Betty was born February 2, 1943 in Fairbury; the daughter of Walter and Lora (Larkin) Hetherington. She married Jack E. Lawrence on August 13, 1961 in Fairbury.  Her husband Jack, survives in Fairbury.

Other survivors include one daughter, Connie (John) Haas of Fairbury; two sons, Lance (Debbie Hardesty) Lawrence, Chip Lawrence, both of Fairbury; one sister, Helen Leathers of Delavan, WI; two sister in-laws, Betty J. Lawrence & Vicki Lawrence both of Fairbury; six grandchildren, Chelsey (Eric) Prendergast, McKenna Haas, Kody (Callie) Haas, Zachary (Raquel) Lawrence, Landon (Bryce) Lawrence, Dalton Lawrence and 8 great grandchildren, Amelia, Benjamin, Raelynn, Braxton, Brinlee, Maddox, Roux and Theo.

Her parents, one sister, one brother, and one son, Jim Lawrence preceded her in death.

Betty enjoyed sewing and was a member of the Tapestry of Love Ministry at the 1st Baptist Church of Fairbury. She also enjoyed reading and doing Sudoku puzzles with her morning coffee.  Most of all she loved her family and cherished the time she was able to spend with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved her.
