Colfax – Betty Lewis, 91, of Colfax, passed away at 10:45am, January 11, 2017 at Champaign Urbana Nursing and Rehab, Savoy.

Her funeral will be held at 11:00am, Monday, January 16, 2017, at Colfax United Methodist Church. Pastor Gifty Smith will be officiating.

Burial will be in Wiley Cemetery, Colfax.

Visitation will be held one hour prior to services on Monday at the church.

Memorials may be made to the Colfax United Methodist Church or Shriner's Hospital.

Betty was born August 14, 1925 in Springfield, the daughter of Howard and Grayce McBride Collins. She married William Lewis on May 29, 1948 in Virginia. He passed away on February 20, 1992.

Surviving are her children, Jeanne Ann (Bill) Kerber of Bloomington, Morgan (Miki) Lewis of Japan, Karen (David) Scott of Mahomet, and Carole Lewis of St. Joseph; grandchildren, Christopher (Abby) Kerber, Elizabeth (Josh) Hayn, William Lewis, Rachael (Blake) Diehl, Jennifer Lewis, Aaron Scott, and Ben Hinton; great-grandchildren, Ava Diehl, Garrett Hayn, Everly Hayn; and brother, John Collins of Ashland.

She was preceded in death by her parents and three brothers.

Betty graduated from Western Illinois University with a teaching degree.

Betty and Bill owned and operated Lewis True Value Hardware in Colfax from 1975-1992.

She was a member of Colfax United Methodist Church, United Methodist Women, the American Legion Auxiliary, Colfax Chamber of Commerce and she was a board member of Cunningham Children's Home, Urbana.
