Betty Jean Niesmann, 92, Fairbury, died at 7:20 pm Tuesday, June 27, 2023 at Goldwater Care of Pontiac.

Her funeral will be at 11:00 am Wednesday, July 5, 2023 at Duffy-Pils Memorial Home, Fairbury with Pastor Michael Herrera officiating.  Burial will be in Graceland Cemetery Fairbury.

Visitation will be 10:00 to 11:00 am Wednesday also at the Memorial Home.  In lieu of flowers the family suggests memorials be given to the American Red Cross or Goldwater Care of Pontiac.

Mrs. Niesmann was born December 9, 1930 in Hillsboro, IL the daughter of Raleigh and Jessie Pearl McLaine Scott.  She married Kenneth A. Niesmann Sr., on December 27, 1956 in Hillsboro.  He preceded her in death in August of 1973.

Survivors include one daughter, Kendra Herrera, Normal; three grandchildren, Chadwick (Michelle Bagley) Brown, Mark (Hannah) Herrera and Michael (Rachel) Herrera and five great grandchildren.

She is preceded in death by two brothers, three sisters, one son, Kenneth A. Niesmann Jr. and one daughter, Rita Brown.

Mrs. Niesmann was a graduate of Hillsboro Community High School, Cornhusker Beauty School and received her LPN certificate from Kankakee Community College.

Mrs. Niesmann worked at the Fairbury Hospital for 23 years, Fairview Haven Retirement Community for 15 years as an LPN.  She was also a licensed Beautician.

Mrs. Niesmann was a member of the Trinity Lutheran Church, Fairbury.  She volunteered with the Red Cross for 40 years.
