Betty Joy Ricketts, 80, of Chenoa formerly of Pontiac and Fairbury, passed away at 5:28 am, February 16, 2011 at Meadows Mennonite Retirement Community, Chenoa.
Visitation will be held from 6 - 8:00pm, Monday, February 21, 2011, at Duffy-Pils Memorial Home, Fairbury.
Funeral will be held at 10:00am Tuesday, February 22, 2011 at Duffy-Pils Memorial Home, Fairbury with Dr. James Wolfe officiating. Burial will be in Graceland Cemetery, Fairbury.
In lieu of flowers the family suggests that memorials may be directed to Meadows Mennonite Home, Chenoa.
Betty was born July 16, 1930 in Pontiac the daughter of Leonard F. and Mary Evelyn Houder Stahler. She married Francis E. "Bub" Ricketts on January 5, 1951 in Ft. Benning, GA. He passed away February 10, 1989.
Surviving are one son, Randy (Jan) Ricketts of Camp Verde, AZ; one daughter, Marilyn Ricketts of Phoenix, AZ; one brother, Leonard (Janet) Stahler, Jr of Harrison, AR; two sisters, Linda Lyons and Gayle Bohm both of Pontiac; 12 grandchildren and 19 great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents, one son Ronald Ricketts and one sister.
Betty was a member of First Baptist Church Pontiac. She was a volunteer for the Girl Scouts America, Charter member and past president of VFW and past president of the American Legion Auxiliary.
