Obituary

Beulah M. Barnes, 97, of Fairbury passed away at 2:10 pm, Tuesday, June 2, 2009 at Fairview Haven Nursing Home, Fairbury.

Cremation rites have been accorded with a memorial service to be held at 10:30 am, Saturday, June 6, 2009 at the 1st Presbyterian Church of Fairbury with Pastor Spencer Homan officiating. Private inurnment will be held in Graceland Cemetery, Fairbury. Duffy-Pils Memorial Home, Fairbury has charge of arrangements.

Beulah was born December 5, 1911 in Fairbury the daughter of Amos Frank and Ethel (Ward) Cox. She married Stanley F. Barnes on December 25, 1938 in Cropsey. He passed away on December 23, 1995.

Survivors include; two daughters; Janet (Paul Augsburger) Kester, Sally (Jim) Emberton both of Fairbury, two brothers; Logan (Dorothy) Cox, Fairbury, Gene (Pat) Cox, Colfax, one sister in-law; Bernice Cox, Fairbury, one brother in-law; Don Barnes, Fairbury, six grandchildren; Rick Kester, Darla Dickson, Dawn Briscoe, Tammy Vance, Doug Burke, Greg Burke and thirteen great grandchildren.

The family suggests that memorials be directed to 1st Presbyterian Church of Fairbury or Dominy Memorial Library.

She was preceded in death by her husband, one brother; Wayne Cox, one sister; Emma Louise McGill, one daughter; Marianne Burke and one grandson; Tim Kester.

Beulah was a member of the 1st Presbyterian Church of Fairbury, an Eastern Star, Cheerful Givers and active in Home Bureau and Livingston County 4H for many years. She will be deeply missed by her family and friends.
