Obituary

Chenoa: Bobby Johnson, 87 of Chenoa, died at 1:30 pm, Saturday, September 29, 2007 at Meadows Mennonite Retirement Home, Meadows.

Visitation will be from 5 to 8 pm, Tuesday, October 2, 2007 at the Duffy-Pils Memorial Home, Chenoa and one hour prior to services at the church on Wednesday.

Funeral services will be 10:30 am, Wednesday, October 3, 2007 at the 1st Presbyterian Church of Chenoa. Burial will take place in Chenoa Cemetery, Chenoa with Pastor Dan Patterson officiating the service.

Mr. Johnson was born November 2, 1919 in rural Chenoa the son to Walter and Myrtle (Neher) Johnson. He married Marjorie Fulton December 11, 1943 in San Antonio, TX. She survives in Chenoa.

Also surviving are three sons; Warren (Linda) Johnson, John (Jennifer) Johnson, Russell (Carol) Johnson all of Chenoa; one daughter; Carol (Paul) Ummel, Saybrook, one sister; Lynette Linman, Bloomington, seven grandchildren; Andrew & Daniel Johnson, Katie & John N. Johnson, Sara Johnson, Teresa Barker & Mark Ummel and seven great grandchildren.

In lieu of flowers the family suggests that memorials be directed to 1st Presbyterian Church of Chenoa and Meadows Mennonite Retirement Home, Meadows.

Bobby was a member of the 1st Presbyterian Church of Chenoa and served our country in the U.S. Army Air Corp. during WWII. He was a lifelong farmer in the Chenoa area, a member of the McLean County Farm Bureau, a Board of Director on the McLean County Service Company. He enjoyed spending time with his family, working his land and was an avid sports fan.
