Forrest - Bobby Franklin Moore, 83, of Forrest went home to the Lord at 7:35pm, November 10, 2014.
He was born on November 8, 1931 in Logan County, KY to Guy and Flossie Moore.
He is survived by all six of his siblings; Bernita Baker of Bloomington, Leatrice (Ron) Mosby of TX, Sue (Joe) Smith of Sidney, Ronald (Rose Ann) of Gibson City, Johnny (Brenda) of Fairbury, Jimmy (Karen) of Melvin.
His parents and one brother-in-law Raymond Baker preceded him in death.
After graduating from Drummer Township High School in 1949 he drove a gravel truck for Arnold Trucking until he was drafted into the Army in 1952. He served his country for two years during the Korean Conflict. He was honorably discharged in 1954 and married Marlene Shive "the girl next door" on March 13, 1954.
They had three daughters, Melodee (Lynn) Stevens of Parma, ID, Tamra (Grant) Bedel of Trivoli, and Kellee (Mike) McGuire of Forrest.
Bobby and Marlene farmed for 49 years. Together they raised dairy cattle and other livestock while growing corn, hay, soybeans and oats. All would agree Bobby had the cleanest and shiniest farm equipment in the county and not a weed in his fields. He was a hard working man never complaining about what needed to be done.
Also during that time Bobby drove the school bus for Forrest-Strawn-Wing for 13 years. There was definitely law and order on his bus or you would be sitting on the step! He also worked at Koehl Bros. and Steidinger Trucking.
Alzheimer's forced him to retire at the age of 71 against his will.
Four grandchildren blessed Bobby's family; Jason (Fiancé Aleah Faber) McGuire of Fairbury, Brandi (Alan) Stipp of Forrest, Dustin (Tatia) Bedel of Bartlesville, OK, and Kalee Bedel of Trivoli. He also had four great grandchildren, Adi Bachtold, Lakin Bachtold, Brynlee Bedel and Canon Stipp.
Bobby was a member of the Gibson City Church of Christ, where he served as an elder. He loved the truth of God and hoped that all would come to the knowledge of the truth.
At his request there will be no public service. Upon cremation his remains will be laid to rest in the Strawn Cemetery. A private family service is planned. Duffy-Pils Memorial Home, Fairbury is in charge of arrangements. Condolences and tributes may be made to the family at www.duffypilsmemorialhome.com.
Memorials may be made to the charity of your choice.
An Alzheimer's Poem
Do not ask me to remember. Don't try to make me understand. Let me rest and know you're with me.
Kiss my cheek and hold my hand. I'm confused beyond your concept. I am sad and sick and lost.
All I know is that you need to be with me at all cost. Do not lose your patience with me. Do not scold or curse or cry.
I can't help the way I'm acting. Can't be different though I try. Just remember that I need you.
That the best of me is gone. Please don't fail to stand beside me.
Love me till my life is done.
