Bruce V. Lee, 97, Port Charlotte, FL died Saturday, May 25, 2024 at Tidewell Hospice House, Port Charlotte, FL.

Mr. Lee was born October 21, 1926 in Chenoa, IL the son of William H. and Carrie Willis Lee.  He married Louise M. Bunting on August 24, 1946 in Bloomington, IL.  She survives in Port Charlotte, FL.

Other survivors include one daughter, Marilyn (Gerald) McDowell, Deltona, FL, five grandchildren, ten great grandchildren, three great-great grandchildren, and one sister, Rose Marie Vanhouten, Chenoa.

He is preceded in death by two daughters, Caroll Hernandez and Brucetta Lee and one brother.

Mr. Lee was a graduate of Fairbury High School.  He formerly owned and operated Lee's Tastee-Freez Drive-In and later Lee's Bowling and Lounge, both in Fairbury.  He also worked for the Department of Corrections, Pontiac, IL for 24 years.

Visitation will be 9:30 – 10:30 am Tuesday, June 4, 2024 at Duffy-Pils Memorial Home, Fairbury followed by his funeral at 10:30 am.  Pastor Paul Wier will officiate.  Burial will be in Graceland Cemetery, Fairbury.

The family suggests memorials be given to the charity of the donor's choice.
