Burline Illyes, 92 recently of Pekin and formerly of Chenoa passed away at 7:45 am, Tuesday, September 1, 2020 at her daughters' residence in Pekin.

Graveside services will be 11 am, Saturday, September 5, 2020 at Chenoa Twp. Cemetery, Chenoa; with Pastor Jeff Williams officiating. In lieu of flowers the family suggests memorials be directed Chenoa Baptist Church, Chenoa. Duffy-Pils Memorial Home, Chenoa is in charge of arrangements.

Mrs. Illyes was born January 26, 1928, a daughter to Burr and Effie (Smith) Grider.  She married Orel T. Illyes on December 26, 1946 in Chenoa.  Her husband, Orel preceded her in death on May 25, 1998.  Her parents and one brother, Edwin Grider also preceded her in death.

Survivors include three daughters, Donna (Stephen) Somers of Normal; Linda (Robert) Saffel of Pekin; Janet Goodin of Chenoa; six grandchildren, Michael Somers of Seffner, FL; David Somers of Bloomington;  Lisa Miller of Chenoa; Tracy Perez of Chenoa; Tammy McGrath of Cave City, KY; Eric Sullivan of Rock Island; 20 great-grandchildren and 15 great-great grandchildren.

Burline was a member of the Chenoa Baptist Church. Her faith and her family were very important to her, never wavering despite the many challenges in her long life.  She loved her family and would always be there for any one of them, full of Love and support.  Her sensitive and independent spirit will be missed by all who knew and loved her.
