C. Ruth Meyer, 95, Fairbury died at 5:50am Sunday, June 14, 2009 at Fairview Haven Nursing Home, Fairbury.

Funeral services will be at 10:00 am Wednesday, June 17, 2009 at the Apostolic Christian Church, Fairbury with the ministers of the church officiating. Burial will be in the Fairbury Apostolic Christian Cemetery.

Visitation will be 5:00 to 8:00 pm Tuesday at Duffy-Pils Memorial Home, Fairbury and 9:00 to 9:45 am Wednesday at the church. The family suggests memorials be given to the Apostolic Christian Church building fund or to the Fairview Haven Nursing Home Good Samaritan Fund, both in Fairbury.

Mrs. Meyer was born April 22, 1914 in Gridley, IL the daughter of Emil and Elisa Stoller Witzig. She married Amos A. Meyer on January 28, 1940 in Gridley. He died May 4, 1988.

Survivors include one son Ralph (Melanie) Meyer, Greer, SC; one daughter, Roberta Meyer, Fairbury, IL; one son-in-law, Alfred (Carolyn) Banwart, Lamar, MO; one brother, Elmer (Marjorie) Witzig, Gridley, IL; three grandsons, Alan (Amy) Meyer, Williamston, SC, Darryl (Kathi) Meyer, Rutherfordton, NC, Jonathan (Beth) Banwart, Jasper, MO; two granddaughters, Ulista Banwart, Sabetha, KS and Venetta Banwart, Lamar, MO; one great grandson, Will Meyer, Williamston, SC and several nieces and nephews.

She is preceded in death by six sisters, five brothers and one daughter, Charlotte Banwart.

Ruth was a member of the Fairbury Apostolic Christian Church. She was a loving mother, grandmother and aunt. She was a homemaker and worked at the Fairbury Hospital, IGA, Dean Williams Jewelry, and the Tastee Freeze.
