C. Marlene Perkins, 86 of Chenoa, died at 8:05am, Sunday, April 19, 2020 at Rosewood Care Center of Peoria.
Cremation rites have been accorded and a private family inurnment will be held at a later date. Duffy-Pils Memorial Home, Chenoa, is assisting with arrangements.
Marlene was born June 2, 1933 in Chenoa, a daughter to Everett and Virginia Maple Henline. She married Charles Junior Perkins on October 27, 1951 in Chenoa. He preceded her in death on July 11, 2018. She was also preceded in death by one brother and three sisters.
Survivors include her son, Timothy (Coleen) Perkins of Hohenwald, TN; her daughter, Patricia (Kevin) Coomes of Long Prairie, MN; four grandchildren, Bria (Wesley) Sancken of Forrest, IL, Kaleigh Ziegler of Pekin, IL, Kyle Coomes of Cold Spring, MN, and Andrew Adams of Wenona, IL and five great-grandchildren, Brynn Runyon, Willow Sancken, Drake Ziegler, Wyatt Adams and Westen Sancken.
Marlene was known as the "Neighborhood Grandma." Her love of family, friends and all of the neighborhood kids. She enjoyed sitting outside on her porch swing watching the world go by around her or getting in her car and driving around town. She enjoyed going to all of the craft shows in the area and seeing everything they had to offer. Cooking and visiting with everyone were always some favorite past times of hers. She had an unconditional love of animals, mainly her love for cats.
