Obituary
Calvin E. Coleman, 79 of Florissant, CO formerly of Fairbury died Nov. 23, 2008, at Colorado State Veterans Nursing Home in Walsenburg, Colo.
Mr. Coleman was born Dec. 31, 1928, in Urbana, IL the son of Ralph and Helen (Stoner) Coleman.
Survivors include his wife, Joanne Pembroke Coleman of Florissant, CO.; four children; Cathy Coleman, St. George, UT, Chris (Regina) Coleman, Las Vegas, NV, Paul (Jodi) Coleman, Fairbury and Kristen Coleman, Florissant, CO, nine grandchildren; one great-grandchild; and two brothers.
Cremation rites have been accorded in Colorado and a private family service will be held in Illinois at a later date.
During his lifetime, Mr. Coleman had been an Illinois State Police patrolman; account executive for WCIA-TV, Champaign, and Katz Agency, Chicago; national sales manager, WAND-TV, Decatur; owner/general manager, KHUB/KFMT Radio, Fremont, Neb.; general manager, KGIN-TV, Grand Island, Neb.; sales manager, Cablevision, Springfield; media buyer, GMA&A Advertising, Springfield.
Cal served in the U.S. Navy, was a Shriner, a member of Western Star Lodge No 240, Rotary, Fremont Chamber of Commerce, International Idea Bank, JT Parkinson Support Group. Mr. Coleman also enjoyed hunting, fishing and playing golf.
