Obituary
Colfax - Carl H. Phillips, 65, of Colfax passed away March 7, 2009, at 10:40am at Heritage Manor Nursing Home, Colfax.
Services will be held at 11:00 am Wednesday, March 11, 2009 at Duffy-Pils Memorial Home, Colfax. Rev. Ralph Wingate will be officiating. Burial will be in Wiley Cemetery.
Visitation will be held from 4-6:00pm Tuesday, March 10, 2009 also at the funeral home.
Carl was born September 16, 1943 in Ann Arbor, MI the son of Carl Albert and Laura Mox Phillips. They preceded him in death. He married Sue LeMaster on June 13, 1964 in Belleville, MI. She survives.
Also surviving are two sons, Jeff (Susan) Phillips of Colfax and Tom (Dawn) Phillips of Elizabethtown, KY; five grandchildren, Laura, Rebecca, Jacob, Benji, and Hannah Phillips.
Carl was a member of Prayer Baptist Church and Calvary Baptist Church in Ypsilanti, MI and attended Calvary Baptist Church in Normal.
Carl was a jack of all trades. He loved the challenge and could fix anything. He loved old farm tractors, camping and his dogs. He had a special love and place in his heart for his grandkids.
The family suggests that memorials may be made to Calvary Baptist Church in Normal.
