Obituary
Carol J. Jones, 70, Arrowsmith, died at 6:17 pm Tuesday, December 24, 2013 at her residence in Arrowsmith.
Memorial services will be held at 11:00 am Friday, January 3, 2014 at the Arrowsmith Christian Church with Pastor Patty Meyer officiating. The family suggest memorials be given to OSF Hospice, Bloomington or the Arrowsmith Christian Church. Duffy-Pils Memorial Home, Colfax is assisting with arrangements.
Mrs. Jones was born December 1, 1943 in Pontiac, IL the daughter of Ernest and Barbara Carby Smith. She married Larry Jones on December 3, 1978 in Anchor, IL. He survives in Arrowsmith, IL
Also surviving are her children, Christine (Matt) Shultz, Heyworth, IL; Ernie (Corey) Jones, Raleigh, NC; Naomi (Johnny) Clinton, Greenup, IL; Doug Jones, Albuquerque, NM; Diane Mercer, Rantoul, IL; twelve grandchildren, eighteen great grandchildren and one sister, Diana Dalton, Erin, TN.
She is preceded in death by her parents and one sister.
Mrs. Jones was a 1961 graduate of Chenoa Twp. High School. She had been employed as a cook at Octavia Manor, Colfax and later OSF St. Joseph Regional Medical Center, Bloomington.
She was a member of the Arrowsmith Christian Church and the women of the church, the Arrowsmith American Legion Auxiliary and had served on the Village of Arrowsmith election board.
