Fairbury – Cecil T. Brown, 80, of Fairbury; passed away at 4:35 pm, Sunday, August 21, 2016 at Marigold Rehab & Health Care Center, Galesburg, IL.

Visitation will be 4 to 7 pm, Wednesday, August 24, 2016 at Duffy-Pils Memorial Home, Fairbury. His funeral service will be held at 7 pm, Wednesday at the conclusion of visitation with Pastor Daryl Evans officiating. Cremation rites will take place following the service and a private family inurnment will take place at a later date.

Mr. Brown was born September 29, 1935 in Pleasant Plains, IL; the son of Cecil L. and Vera (Floyd) Brown. He married Cora "Pat" Lemons on October 7, 1956. She died on August 12, 1991. He later married Yvonne M. Farney on January 7, 1995 in Forrest, IL. She passed away on May 1, 2012.

Survivors include, four sons, Windell (Toots) Brown of Davenport, IA; Richard Brown of Champaign, IL; Tom Brown of Downs, IL; John (Viola) Brown of Chatsworth, IL; two daughters, Teresa Eby of Saunemin, IL; Diana (Bobby) Chrestman of Pontiac, IL; three sisters, Patty (C.J.) Sheridan of Ava, IL; Mary Myers of Mt. Vernon, IL; Francis Austin of Mt. Vernon, IL; one brother, Dennis Brown of Ashley, IL; 15 grandchildren and 40 great grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents, one brother, one sister, 1 granddaughter, 2 great granddaughters and 1 great grandson.

In lieu of flowers the family suggests that memorial contributions be directed to First Baptist Church of Fairbury or Dominy Memorial Library, Fairbury.

Cecil was a member of the First Baptist Church of Fairbury and belonged to Local #16 of AFLCIO, Chicago, IL. He was an avid walker and loved to read Louis Lamour books. He loved spending time with his family and his grandchildren were very special to him.
