Charles Dale Chapman, 82, of Chenoa, died Thursday, November 19, 2015, at OSF St. Joseph's Medical Center, Bloomington.
Funeral mass will be 11 am, Monday, November 23, 2015 at St. Joseph's Catholic Church, Chenoa; with Father Carl LoPresti officiating. Burial will follow in Chenoa Twp. Cemetery, Chenoa; with full military rites accorded by Chenoa VFW Post 8350 and Ben Roth American Legion Post 234.
Visitation will be one hour prior to funeral also at the church on Monday. Duffy-Pils Memorial Home, Chenoa is in charge of arrangements. In lieu of flowers memorials may be directed to St. Joseph's Catholic Church, Chenoa.
Dale was born December 11, 1932 in Bloomington the son of Charles M. and Leona M. (Schade) Chapman. He married Patricia Whalen in September of 1956 in Chenoa. She survives in Chenoa.
Other survivors include one son, Steven (Debra) Chapman of Chenoa; one daughter, Susan (David) Robb of Bloomington; one grandson, Rick (Cayce) Chapman of St. Charles, MO; three step granddaughters, Michelle Korth of Peoria; Heidi Golden and Lacey Duncan both of Elmwood; 4 great grandchildren, Hallie, Nick, Kayla and Autumn Chapman and 2 step great grandchildren, Landen and Izzac Hoffman.
He was preceded in death by his parents and twin brother Merle F. Chapman.
Dale served our country in the US Air Force during the Korean Conflict. He was raised with his twin brother Merle in Chenoa; and graduated from Chenoa High School in 1950. Dale will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved him.
