Shirley – Charles E. "Chuck" Neubauer, 91, of Shirley, passed away at 4:49am, November 12, 2018, on his Centennial Farm, Shirley.
Cremation has been accorded.
Friends are cordially invited to a celebration of life from 1- 4:00pm, Saturday, November 17, 2018, at the Mclean County Bureau building on Route 9.
Memorials may be made to Shirley Christian Church or McLean County Farm Bureau Foundation Scholarships.
Duffy-Pils Memorial Home, Colfax is in charge of arrangements.
Chuck was born in 1927, in Bloomington, the son of Paul and Clara Schalk Neubauer.
He married Eleanor Maxine Lamont on July 5, 1953 in Normal. She passed away on August 12, 2008.
Surviving are his children, Susan (David) Drury of Danville, IN, Candice (Phil) Barker of Weldon Spring, MO, Connie (Jerry) VanWye of Lancaster, MO, Julie (Stan) Parsons of Wildwood, MO, Carl (Mary) Neubauer of Downs, Lisa (Jim) Hume of Wildwood, MO, and Lori (Jack) Fitzgerald of Bloomington; 15 grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
Chuck is a veteran of the United States Army.
He was a lifelong farmer in the Shirley area and was a milk tester for Dairy Herd Improvement Association for 10 years. He also worked with ND Outlaw Construction.
Chuck was a member of the Shirley Christian Church, Normal Community High School Class of 1945 Alumni, Rural Married Club, Y Do-Sa-Do Square Dancing Club, McLean County Sportsmen Club, Barn Keepers, and McLean County Farm Bureau.
He was the Crop Superintendent for the McLean County Fair and a volunteer fireman for Dale Township.
Chuck received The Honorary Chapter Farmer award from the Normal Community FFA Chapter.
The family would like to extend their thankfulness and gratitude to the many caregivers that helped them care for Chuck.
Chuck loved his family, friends and his farm.
