Chenoa – Charles W. King, 55 of Chenoa passed away at 5:52 am, Tuesday, August 10, 2010 at Advocate Bromenn Regional Medical Center, Normal.
Cremation rites have been accorded.
A memorial service will be held at 6:00pm on Friday, August 13, 2010 at Duffy-Pils Memorial Home, Chenoa with Pastor Christian Ricker officiating. Friends may greet the family from 4-6:00pm on Friday also at the funeral home. Inurnment will take place in Chenoa Cemetery at 9:00am on Saturday, August 14, 2010.
Chuck was born September 16, 1954 in Fairbury, the son of Harlan F. and Bonny Jean (Adams) King. He married Regina Smith on August 6, 1982 in Bloomington. She survives in Chenoa.
Also surviving are, three children; Jennifer L. King, Kevin M. (Stephanie) King both of Gridley, and Andrea M. King of Chenoa, one grandson Zachary Herr; two sisters; Victoria (Keith) Ballenger, Bloomington, Jeanne Hunt, Medford, OR. Charles was excited about the coming arrival of his second grandson Karson King.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
Charles worked a number of years in the social services field holding management positions at Futures Unlimited, Pontiac, Goodwill Industries, Springfield and vice president of ODC, Bloomington. He was most recently employed in management at AFNI, Inc.
The family suggests in lieu of flowers that memorial gifts be directed to and education fund for his grandchildren established at State Bank of Graymont.
Charles was a loving husband, father, grandfather, and brother, and will be missed by all.
