Charles A. McCune, 84, of Pontiac, passed away on Wednesday, October 16th, 2024, at Goldwater Care in Pontiac, IL. Cremation rites have been accorded.

Funeral service will be held at 11:00 am on Thursday, October 24th, 2024 at Messiah Lutheran Church: 40 Houbolt Rd. Joliet, IL 60431.

A graveside service will be held at a later date in Rovey Cemetery, Farmersville, IL.

Memorial Contributions can be left in Charles's name to Joliet Township Animal Control or Messiah Lutheran Church.

Charles was born January 25th, 1940 in Monmouth, IL, the son of Curtis and Margaret (Coffman) McCune. He married Ina Hobson on November 9th, 1975. She preceded him in death on January 28th, 2022.

Charles is survived by his children: Dawn (Noel) Anama, Sheri (Joe) Martin, Daniel (Helen) Frazier, and Kevin McCune. Also surviving are his grandchildren: Bradley McCune, Breanna Kalush, Lanora McCune, Hunter Anama, and Madelynne (Joel) Anama, and his great-grandchildren: Gabriel, Wesley, Zachary, Lyllien, Camden, Abbigale, and Lennox. He is also survived by his brothers, Ronald and Curtis McCune.

He is preceded in death by his parents, wife, son – Robert McCune, and three siblings, Madeline Nevius, Donald McCune, and Michael McCune.

Charles retired from his career at Diageo in Plainfield, IL. He was an avid bowler who frequently rolled at Town & Country in Joliet. He loved fishing and tractors. He will be greatly missed by all of his family and friends.
