Bloomington – Charles A. Powell, 61 of Bloomington formerly of Escondido, CA, died April 7, 2008 at 10:17AM at his residence.
Cremation has been accorded. A Memorial Service will be held on Friday, April 11, 2008 at 6:00PM at Cooksville Union Church
Charles was born August 6, 1946 in Salem, IL the son of Emmit and Thelma Allene Vawter Powell. They preceded him in death. He married Margaret Anderson on May 29, 1987. She survives.
Also surviving are two daughters Sarah Amber (Jason Tosh) Francen of Bloomington and Judy Yvonne Campbell of Brownwood, TX; one son Bryan O'Neal Powell of Brownwood, TX; one step-son Joe Del Walker of Brownwood, TX; 18 grandchildren; one sister, Betty (Steve) Heinrich of Clinton; two brothers, Richard Powell and Raymond (Angelika) Powell both of Bloomington; and numerous nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by one brother Paul Edwin Powell.
Charles graduated from Clinton High School in 1966. He was a decorated Veteran of the United States Marines where he served in Vietnam and received various medals. He was a truck driver for 29 years in California.
Charles is a member of the American Legion in Normal and in Escondido, CA.
The family suggests that in lieu of flowers Memorials may be made to the Charles A. Powell Family.
