Charles Sasse, of Fairbury, IL passed away at 10:48am, August 28, 2026, following 100 years of caring and meaningful life.

Charlie was born November 13, 1925, in Henderson, KY, the son of Charles David Sasse, Sr and Rosalee (Weiner) Sasse. He married Goldia L. Steele on January 23, 1944, and had 81 years of loving marriage, prior to her passing.

Charlie is survived by 1 remaining brother, Don; 5 children, Charles E. (Sherry), Gary (Barbara), Stephen, Sharon Mowery, and Glenda (Rodney) Fike; 7 grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren; 1 great-great-grandchild.

Charlie had been an active member of First Presbyterian Church and volunteered and served the community in many ways including the Lions Club and Habitat for Humanity. He enjoyed fishing, gardening, farming, and reading the Bible.

Charlie last resided at Fairview Haven Retirement Community in Fairbury, IL.

Visitation will be 10:30-11:30am Friday September 4, followed by funeral services at 11:30, at the First Presbyterian Church in Fairbury, and interment service at Graceland Cemetary, and then a lunch downstairs at the church. Arrangements are provided by Duffy-Pils Memorial Home, Fairbury.

If desired, memorials may be made to Fairview Haven Nursing Home or First Presbyterian Church, Fairbury.
