Charles W. Schieler, 79, Chenoa, died at 6:25 pm Sunday, March 29, 2026 at OSF St. Francis Medical Center, Peoria.

Visitation will be 9:30 to 11:00 am Saturday, April 4, 2026 followed by his funeral service at 11:00 am. Pastor Jeff Williams will officiate. Burial will be in Chenoa Twp. Cemetery at a later date. The family suggests memorials be given to the Chenoa Baptist Church. Duffy-Pils Memorial Home, Chenoa is assisting with arrangements.

Charles was born June 13, 1946 in Pontiac, IL the son of Charles W. and Grace Howland Schieler. He married Beverly Mients on June 10, 1965 in Chenoa. She survives in Chenoa.

Other survivors include two sons, Brian C. (Wendy) Schieler, Richmond Hill, GA, Christopher J. (Karen) Schieler, Heyworth, IL, six grandchildren and one sister, Carol Foster, Pontiac, IL.

He is preceded in death by his parents.

Charles served in the United States Coast Guard for four years. He formerly worked part-time for the City of Chenoa and was a part-time police officer. He later worked at Motorola, Pontiac and spent the last 32 years of his career working at Caterpillar Inc, Pontiac.

He was a member of the Chenoa Baptist Church and the Chenoa Fire Department.
