Fairbury – Charles Steidinger, 88, of Fairbury, passed away at 6:16 am, August 28, 2026, at his residence.

His funeral will be held on Tuesday, September 1, 2026, at the Christian Apostolic Church, Forrest. Ministers of the church will be officiating.

Burial will be in South Graceland Cemetery, Fairbury.

Visitation will be held from 4-8:00 pm, Monday, August 31, 2026, at Duffy-Pils Memorial Home, Fairbury and 9-9:45 am on Tuesday at the Church.

Memorials may be made to the donor’s choice of charity.

Charles was born July 2, 1938, in Fairbury, the son of Urban and Ollie Moser Steidinger. He married Joanne Mueller on June 1, 1969, in Fairbury. She survives.

Also surviving are his children, Jeanette (Ryan) Slagel of Salem, OR, Sharon (Keith) Kuenzi of Salem, OR, Alan (Tricia) Steidinger of Pontiac, Loren (Devon) Steidinger of Chenoa, Jill (Nathan) Waibel of Forrest, Teri (Matt) Stork of Chatsworth, Teresa (Trent) Slagel of Pontiac, Gary (Annette) Steidinger of Fairbury, Greg (Maria) Steidinger of Fairbury, and Julie (Nelson) Schaffer of Sabetha, KS; 94 grandchildren; 27 great-grandchildren; siblings, Marjorie Edelman of Sabetha, KS, Velda (Karl) Glueck of Tremont, Barbara (Ronald) Kaeb of Fairbury, Eldon (Darlene) Steidinger of Fairbury, Thomas (Dianne) Steidinger of Fairbury and Judy (Terry) Bachtold of Strawn.

He was preceded in death by his parents; four brothers, Maurice, Donald, Dennis and David Steidinger; two sisters, Elizabeth Steidinger and Mary Lou Kaeb; great-grandson, Kendall Schaffer.

Charles was a lifelong farmer in the Livingston County area.

He was a member of the Christian Apostolic Church, Forrest.

Charles gave his life to the Lord at the age of 17 and spent the rest of his life walking in faith and encouraging others to do the same.
