Obituary
Charlotte E. Barnes 73, of Chenoa passed away at 9:31 am, Monday, September 26, 2011 at OSF St. James-John Albrecht Medical Center, Pontiac.
Funeral services will be at 2:00 pm, Thursday, September 29, 2011 at the Duffy-Pils Memorial Home, Chenoa with Pastor Daryl Evans officiating. Burial will follow in Chenoa Cemetery, Chenoa.
Visitation will be from 12 to 2 pm, Thursday prior to the service also at the memorial home in Chenoa.
Charlotte was born November 12, 1937 in Chenoa the daughter of Robert and Lucy (Ross) Newkirk. She married Lester J. Barnes on June 8, 1962 in Pontiac. He survives in Chenoa.
Other survivors include three sons, Billy (Shirl) Barnes of Chenoa; Gailen Barnes of Columbus, OH; James Barnes of Chenoa; two daughters, Amy (Greg) Pfeifer of Dwight; and Dawn Barnes of Chenoa; ten grandchildren and nine great grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents and one brother, William P. Newkirk.
In lieu of flowers the family suggests that memorials be directed to American Lung Association or Chenoa Baptist Church, Chenoa, IL.
Charlotte was a member of the Chenoa Baptist Church, Chenoa. She enjoyed spending time with her children and her grandchildren, they were her world. She will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved her.
