Christopher Jason "CJ" Daugherty, 28, of Gridley, died at 8:42 am, Tuesday, July 21, 2015, from injuries sustained in a motorcycle accident east of Chenoa.
His funeral will be held at 10:00 am, Saturday, July 25, 2015 at Christ Community Church of Gridley with Pastor Andy Huette officiating. Burial will follow in East Lawn Memorial Gardens, Bloomington.
Visitation will be held from 3-7:00pm, Friday, July 24, 2015 also at the church in Gridley. Duffy-Pils Memorial Home, Fairbury is in charge of arrangements.
In lieu of flowers memorials may be directed to the Milo Daugherty Education Fund.
CJ was born June 4, 1987 in Bloomington, the son of Michael D. and Shelly (Schulz) Daugherty. He married Maggie Lawrence on October 4, 2014 in Fairbury. His wife survives in Gridley. He was preceded in death by his father, Michael D. Daugherty and one sister Haleigh Daugherty.
Other survivors include his son, Milo Daugherty of Gridley; mother, Shelly (Deen McDonald) Daugherty of Bloomington; father and mother -in-law, Mark and LeAnn Lawrence of Fairbury; two brothers, Jeremy (Heidi) Schulz of Weston, Brandon (Ashley) Daugherty of Bloomington; and two sisters, Megan and Erin McDonald both of Bloomington; maternal grandparents, Sandra and Hank Robbins of Florida; paternal grandparents, James and Victoria Jennings of Bloomington; nephews and niece, Caiden, Madison and Keegan Schulz.
CJ graduated from Prairie Central High School in 2005. He was a generator technician for Popejoy Plumbing, Heating & Electric in Fairbury. Life as a husband and father was just beginning for CJ. He loved his family and his memory will forever live in our hearts.
