Gibson City: Clara Wilhelmine Holsten, 99 of Heritage Manor, Colfax formerly of Gibson City passed away at 12:37 pm, Sunday, June 21, 2009 at Heritage Manor, Colfax.
Private family burial has taken place at Immanuel Lutheran Church Cemetery, Colfax. Her memorial service will be 2 pm, Thursday, June 25, 2009 at the United Methodist Church of Gibson City located at 206 East 10th St., Gibson City with Pastor Kevin Boesen officiating. Visitation will be one hour prior to the memorial service at the church on Thursday. Duffy-Pils Memorial Home, Colfax is in charge of arrangements.
Clara was born January 21, 1910 in Longenhorn, Germany the daughter of John and Martha (Glissmann) Hardt. She married Henry Holsten on December 31, 1929 in Bloomington. He passed away April 4, 1984
Survivors include two sons; Henry (Liese) Holsten and Jerry (Mary) Holsten both of Gibson City, six grandchildren and twelve great grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by two brothers, one son and two grandchildren.
Clara and Henry lived in Weston and Carlock area before moving to Gibson City in 1968. She lived in Gibson City until August of 2001 when she became a resident of Colfax Heritage Manor. Clara was a member of and attended Immanuel Lutheran Church of Danvers for many years.
