Obituary
Clarence Virgil Martin, 94, Forrest died at 7:30 pm Sunday, August 31, 2008 at Heritage Manor Nursing Home, Colfax.
Funeral services will be 11:00 am Thursday, September 4, 2008 at the United Methodist Church, Chatsworth with the Rev. David Reynolds officiating. Burial will be in Graceland Cemetery, Fairbury. Visitation will be 9:00 to 11:00 am Thursday at the church. Duffy-Pils Memorial Home, Fairbury is in charge of arrangements.
Mr. Martin was born July 10, 1914 in Strawn, IL, the son of William E. and Hattie Mammen Martin. He married Marian L. Frederking on March 17, 1937 in Fairbury. She survives in Forrest.
Also surviving are two daughters, Joan (Orley) Plenert, Forrest, IL, Maxine Stoller, Fort Myers, FL, one son, Duane Martin, Krum, TX, ten grandchildren and 28 great grandchildren.
He is preceded in death by two brothers and four sisters.
Mr. Martin farmed near Strawn, IL retiring in 1982. He was a member of the United Methodist Church, Chatsworth and enjoyed golfing and playing euchre.
The family suggests memorials be given to the Heritage Manor Nursing Home, Colfax.
