Obituary

Chenoa – Clarence Evart Taylor, 94 of Chenoa, died December 8, 2007 at 8:29AM at OSF St. James John Albrecht Medical Center, Pontiac.

His visitation will be held on Tuesday, December 11, 2007 from 10:30 -11:30AM at St. Paul's Evangelical Lutheran Church, Chenoa.
Funeral will also be held on Tuesday, December 11, 2007 at 11:30AM at the Church with Pastor Jerry Koch officiating. Burial will take place in Chenoa Cemetery, Chenoa.

Evart was born March 22, 1913 in Anchor the son of Rollie and Della (Cowley) Taylor.
He married Elverta Gerbracht on June 6, 1936 in Chenoa. She survives in Chenoa.

Also surviving are three daughters, Shirley (Loren)Schuler of Colfax, Barbara (Ronald) Mehrkens of Henry and Connie (Gary) Leake of Lexington; one son Darvin (Mary) Taylor of Bloomington; twelve grandchildren, twelve great-grandchildren, four great great-grandchild and four step-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by two brothers, and three sisters.

Evart lived in the Chenoa area for over 60 years. He attended Anchor School and then farmed in the Chenoa and Colfax area. He also worked for Interlake Steele in Pontiac.

He was a member of St. Paul's Evangelical Lutheran Church, Chenoa. He was a former member of McLean County Farm Bureau, Pontiac Chief City Saddle Club and Cosmo Club. Evart was a devoted husband and father and will be deeply missed by those who knew and loved him.

The family suggests that memorials may be made to St. Paul's Lutheran Church or Fairview Methodist Church.
