Clyde Hoffman, 82 of Gibson City, passed away June 20, 2009 at 3:03pm at Provena Covenant Medical Center, Urbana.
Funeral will be held at 10:00 am on Wednesday, June 24, 2009 at Duffy-Pils Memorial Home, Fairbury. Burial will be in Apostolic Christian Cemetery, Fairbury.
Visitation will be held from 5-8:00 pm on Tuesday, June 23, 2009 also at the funeral home.
Mr. Hoffman was born September 17, 1926 in Fairbury the son of Paul and Emma Slagel Hoffman. He first married Jean Milne on January 20, 1946. He later married Donna Huron. She died February 12, 2009.
Surviving are his children, Kay (Rod) Stevens, Karen (Bob) Walter, Kathy (Thom) Ladeairous all of Fairbury, Kris (Martin) Rund of Catlin, Kim (John) Clifford of Rantoul and Rick (Cheryl) Hoffman of Fairbury; 16 grandchildren and 14 great-grandchildren; sister Alice Himelick of Kokomo, IN.
He was preceded in death by five brothers and three sisters.
Mr. Hoffman was a farmer in Gibson City and Fairbury.
Hunting and fishing were two of his favorite lifetime sports. He also enjoyed playing organized softball in his younger years. He was a die hard Cub fan.
Clyde devoted his life to farming and was able to help with the planting this spring.
He had a special love and place in his heart for his children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
